We are the Pure Michigan Dub Coalition and we don’t believe the FCC—or any agency—should own the airwaves. Nature’s frequencies belong to the people. We broadcast dub and hiphop and resistance culture straight from the forests and warehouses of the Midwest.

🛠️ Build Your Own Station

• Transmitter: Use a 1W–15W FM transmitter kit (search “BH1415F” or “Veronica transmitter”).
• Antenna: Construct a J-Pole Antenna tuned to 87–108 MHz.
• Infrared Trick: Use laser line-of-sight to redirect signal coverage zones—makes tracking harder.

📖 Pirate Radio History

Pirate radio has been the heartbeat of resistance since the 1960s.

• Radio Caroline (UK, 1964): Broadcast from a ship off the coast to bypass British licensing.
• Rinse FM (UK, 1994): London underground garage and grime—started illegally before going legit.
• Steal This Radio (NYC, 1995): 40-watt microstation that inspired the Free Radio movement.
• Free Radio Berkeley: DIY kits and guides that helped spark LPFM resistance in the US.
